The Young Muslims UK fundraise £1000 for this life saving project!
The Young Muslims UK have managed to raise £1000.00 to help Sleep Pod manufacture more life saving shelters to help rough sleepers and refugees through the cold, winter Months.
We aim to get youngsters involved in helping Sleep Pod build their shelters once the lockdown restrictions ease.
Sleep Pods are an emergency aid
They are designed for rough sleepers in severe weather conditions to help keep people warm and dry.
People are dying on the streets with tragic regularity. For rough sleepers in the UK and refugees in Europe, many of these deaths are a result of hypothermia and exposure to extreme weather conditions. A Sleep Pod is a one-person shelter that can offer meaningful protection from the elements. Sleep Pods are:
- Insulated
- Rain resistant
- Wind resistant
- Quick and easy to use
- Lightweight, easy to pack and carry
- Cost effective to make (at only £30 per Pod)
- Easy to make, made by teams of volunteers
